Not the best list to be on

Poor little Massena. Crime is up, the mall is about to close. Jobs are being lost. Even Tony's Pizza closed!

Now comes word that Massena landed at spot (30 out of 50 towns and cities) on a real estate blog citing the Most Dangerous Places in New York State (Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse are, of course, also on there), but MASSENA? Who would have ever thought? Unfortunately, it is getting worse there. Mayor Tim (Timmy ~ that's apparently his legal name...) Currier, who is a couple of years younger than me and married to a girl who lived across from us on Roosevelt Street, put out a rebuttal of the categorization, but he can't hide the fact that there are tons of drugs and petty (and major) crimes happening there. So sad.

I've said it before: Massena is not the same place I grew up in, but, truthfully, it is much like other towns who have lost industry and jobs over the years. It is a tale all too common these days. I feel bad for all the good folks who are trying to keep Massena safe and a nice place to raise families...so hard for all of them. It was such a great place to grow up.
